Current Projects

Heat and its impact on running injury

Funded by Gonzaga University, Center for Climate, Society, and the Environment

Our goal is to investigate physiological responses and long-term risk in developing tendinopathy with frequent heat waves in the Inland Northwest in recent years by measuring metabolic cost during running, as well as morphological changes in the Achilles tendon in runners before and after running in a climate chamber under different heat conditions.
